Growth we can influence, infrastructure we can control
A decade of growth lifted property values, then handed District 80 the traffic, the flooding, and the insurance bills while developers moved on. Roads, schools, water systems, and storm protection should lead development, not chase it. The same pressure that overwhelms our infrastructure is what fouls the Caloosahatchee and leaves the barrier islands exposed to the next storm. Growth should work for the people who live here, not just the people who build here.
